Ghana International Petroleum Conference and Ghana Downstream Awards

The Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCon), under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition and in partnership with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), and the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), is pleased to announce the 7th Edition of the Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCon 2026) and the 2nd Ghana Downstream Awards & Gala Night 2026.

The conference will take place from 16th – 17th July 2026 at the Palms Convention Centre, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, while the Ghana Downstream Awards & Gala Night 2026 will be held on 18th July 2026 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra. The Special Guests of Honour for the event are His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, and the Honourable Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor.

Under the theme, "𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦: 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲, 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡," GhIPCon 2026 will bring together policymakers, regulators, petroleum industry leaders, investors, development partners, academia, and technology innovators from Ghana, Africa, and beyond to engage in high-level discussions on the future of the downstream petroleum and energy sector.

Over the years, GhIPCon has evolved into one of the leading petroleum industry platforms in the sub-region, serving as a strategic forum for addressing critical industry challenges, fostering collaboration, promoting investment opportunities, and driving innovation across the petroleum value chain.

The 2026 edition will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, executive dialogues, technical sessions, exhibitions, business-to-business engagements, and networking opportunities designed to stimulate meaningful conversations around policy reform, infrastructure development, sustainability, digital transformation, energy security, financing, and human capital development.

Key conference discussions will address the strengthening of downstream regulatory frameworks for resilience, the integration of natural gas as a transition fuel into the downstream value chain, digital innovation, artificial intelligence and smart logistics, sustainability and the evolving energy transition agenda, investment opportunities within Africa's downstream petroleum sector, future-ready workforce development and skills transformation, supply chain resilience and infrastructure development, and regional petroleum trade and energy security.

The conference is also expected to attract a strong international presence, including representatives from government institutions, multinational energy companies, indigenous petroleum firms, financial institutions, development organizations, investors, and technology providers seeking opportunities within Ghana's growing energy market.

As the highly anticipated climax of the GhIPCon experience, the 2nd Ghana Downstream Awards & Gala Night 2026 will take place on 18th July 2026 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra. The Awards and Gala Night has been established to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements, innovation, leadership, operational excellence, and significant contributions to the development of Ghana's downstream petroleum industry.

The event will bring together chief executives, policymakers, regulators, investors, industry leaders, and key stakeholders for an evening dedicated to honouring organisations and individuals whose efforts continue to shape the future of the sector. Beyond the awards presentation, the gala night will provide a prestigious platform for executive networking, industry recognition, and relationship building among decision-makers within Ghana's energy ecosystem.

Beyond the business of the evening, the Gala Night promises an experience of pure glamour and celebration. Guests will arrive in black-tie elegance for an evening of fine dining, live entertainment, and the unmistakable buzz of an industry coming together to toast its own success. As award winners take to the stage to thunderous applause, the atmosphere will build into a true celebration, closing out with music and dancing that carries the night well past the final award.
